Hi people. What do You think about creating an edible forest in a virgin forest in The Amazon jungle in Perú?

Ive been experimenting and designing food forest on small plots of land , about 2000 square meters. Lately ive met a business guy that has land in The Amazon jungle that want to create an hotel and he is asking me for develop a edible forest garden around The hotel.  His land has 17 hectáres and in that space Theres a deforested área of about 4500 square meter where there is Gonna be built The hotel .
He told me i can use 2 hectáres of The virging forest that surround The deforested área ( The hotel) in order to make The project.

What do You think about this?

One thing I’m concerned about is breaking the balance in an already existing forest. A single tree in the forest can serve so many functions—how can we know all of them? How can we be sure that removing one tree or a group of trees won’t disrupt the balance of the whole system?

Do You think a system( edible forest) like this  can be integranted without degrading The existing forest?
Ive read its possible to integrate plants imitating The natural structure of The forest , also i have read in a forest garden book that an approach can be to  recognize ecological niches that is occupying a plant an replace with an analogous one but i think this is hard because a species can interact with its environment in unexpected ways that cannot be predicted solely by its theoretical ecological niche.

What do You advice me?

Rather than planting directly in the forest which as you suggested might break the balance, why not plant on the edges of the forest where there is ample sunlight?
