Biography
We manage a 40 acre wildlife area of the Texas Hill Country in the Edwards Plateau at about 3030 ft above sea level. The region is notable for its karst topography and tall rugged hills of limestone. The terrain throughout the region is punctuated by a thin layer of topsoil and a large number of exposed rocks and boulders, making the region very dry and prone to flash flooding. Native vegetation in the region includes various yucca, prickly pear cactus, native grasses and wildflowers. The predominant trees in the region are Ashe Juniper, Shin Oak and Texas Live Oak. Soil is alkaline consisting of caliche and clay.

Those might not actually be Dandelions.

The flower does not look like a dandelion.

Maybe those are wild lettuce?

Are you only planting a cover crop?

Do you plan to only build the soil or are there future plans for growing annual vegetables?

Are you trying to create a Silvopasture?

Yes a planting zone would help folks.

I am curious as to what your 16 seed cover crop contains.

Welcome to the forum!

I am sorry that I cannot help with your funding request.

I do like your vision for a better place.

This looks like a lack of water to me.

Was your soil keep moist?

That looks similar to chrysanthemum mushroom.  I don't know if it grows in your part of the world.

Maybe it would be good to find a locale mushroom enthusiast to guide your ID.

Or maybe a book on mushrooms for your part of the world.

That looks to me like a well thought out space.

I like the idea for adding a chicken coop and run.

I do not see an area for composting.  I would highly recommend adding one for plant trimming, fall leaves and chicken bedding.

What about an area for annual plants to teach the kids how to plant.

Tiffany said, we read the piles should be set up under a certain tree, (don't remember which)

Poop Beast from the quote above:

Willow, cottonwood, poplar and bamboo.
If I wanted to be sure I'm getting dairy from happy animals I would do one of two things.

I would make sure that I had a happy dairy cow.

If it were not possible for me to have a dairy cow I would them make friends with someone who has a dairy farm and loves their animals.

Do you have any Poop Beasts so that the cans can be emptied sooner?

As the years pass, we find we want to empty the cans quickly and move on. Most plant species cannot handle this much nutrient at once.  But there are a few that can.  We call them the "poop beasts".  Willow, cottonwood, poplar and bamboo. They will greedily gobble up as much as we can give them and then lick their plate clean.
