Feb 2025. Cleaning IBCs
The liners seem to be too expensive and sold in packs of 1000s. If anyone gets a line on an affordable way to buy 3 or 5 of them, I'd like to know.
Ive been reading comments on you tube etc and it seems whatever cleaning solution one uses, a popular low-tech cleaning method is to only fill the tote about 1/8 full and let it sit for 1-2 days then rotate so each if the 6 sides of the cube get soaked for a day or two. Then rinse.
But I haven't been able to find clear advice on how much cleaning product to use.
Any ideas?
Unfortunately theres nothing to i.d. what was truly in these ibcs before. So I made a list of what cleaning products to try. First ill try sodium carbonate (washing soda). If it doesnt get rid of the odor im smelling, ill try oxyclean next, and if I have to go more caustic, I'll try lye. But finding advice on quantities is challenging.
Anyone have experience using any of these?
