In this book, Sharon Kallis delves into the ways in which community living can be improved with eco art. Sharon specializes in using unwanted natural materials for her art and gives many how-to's and detailed instructions in Common Threads. Further, she explores working with unwanted natural materials, with an emphasis on green waste and invasive plant species. She explains how to visualize projects that celebrate the human element while implementing environmental remediation. Lastly, she writes about how to create opportunities for individuals to connect with nature in a unique, artistic yet community-oriented way.
Watched the second video - it's about using blackberry and english ivy to make things to encourage the growth of native plants. They wove the blackberry vines between sticks (not sure what the sticks were) to make a short wattle fence, and actually sort of crocheted the ivy into nets that were fastened down over piled on leaves, as an anchor for that mulch.
