Aloha y'all!
I'm a 40-year-young male with a Master's Degree in Agriculture, a Juris Doctor, 5-acres of land in paradise and ambitious dreams of expanding my land holdings, while building an agricultural empire.
I was born and raised in the islands with substantial roots on each island and the deepest of them stretching through the community I currently call home. Hawaii is quickly urbanizing, but communities like mine are still considered "country," being very rural and remote - there's also no community here too far from the beach (so, allow me to entice you with that).
The Basics:
A picture is worth a thousand words, so I've attached a couple below. What they don't tell you is that my ethnicities are Native Hawaiian/White (Scottish, Irish, English, Welsh, German, Danish, Norwegian, Icelandic). Grow-life aside, I go to the gym just about every day, and spend my free time writing (to get published). Outside of work, I try to keep as active as possible. I love a great adventure.
Professional Me:
The most intellectual "country boy" you'll ever meet. Gentleman, savvy, sophisticated... while getting down and dirty on the farm. I spent some time working as a public policy advocate for the state government, realizing that money talks and that's why certain special interests get their way. So, disillusioned by public service, I went into private consulting. I farm on the side and the goal is to make it my full-time job, or at least a lucrative side-hustle.
The Homestead and the Tribe:
I am, by no means, a simple person, but I do like the idea of a simple life. Having a spacious place to raise a family, enjoying the time together - it all sounds so ideal to me. Sharing space with people who share your values in a tight-knit community also sounds wonderful. Hawaii has the highest cost of living in the Nation and it's a playground for the rich, but it can be a struggle if you don't have a sizable income. The cheat code, however, is in the utility of community - a close-knit group pooling resources and skills can build something that'll give you access to paradise.
I have five acres of land that needs love and attention. I don't currently live there (as I live on a different island, which is convenient for work), but the plan is to find a partner (and friends), move over, and build a homestead. I also have plans for various agricultural enterprises and I've been slowly transporting crops from the family farm on this island to my other home (and future homestead site).
About You:
If you're interested in chatting some time, I'd love to hear from you. It takes a bit of ruggedness to carve out a living in a very rural and remote place - but unlike the wilderness of the continental U.S., you're never too far from "civilization" here in Hawaii. I find a woman who can hold their outdoors to be very attractive, but that's not to say there isn't anything to love about a woman who can bring warmth to a home.
